What is organic?

-         Organic crops are grown free from synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides.

-         Organic farmers use seeds that are untreated with chemicals, and are not genetically modified (GMO).

-         Organic farmers practice crop rotation which increases organic matter in the soil, and retains water more efficiently.

-         The practice is that healthy soil maintains a natural balance between pests and their predators.

-         Weeds are controlled by cultivation and hand hoeing.

-         Organic farmers use beneficial insects to control pests, and trap crops (other appealing plants) to lure insects away from their crops.

-   Because organic fibers do not have any man-made chemicals or products on them, the fiber itself is hypoallergenic.
